What Obama Experts Say About Gun Control

Even Obama's experts say his gun control policies won't work. According to an internal Department of Justice memorandum, a gun ban, like the one being debated right now in Congress, will not work without a mandatory gun buyback, and "universal" background checks will not work without requiring gun registration. Call Congress at 202-224-3121 and tell them to reject President Obama's gun control agenda -- and to get serious about prosecuting criminals and fixing our broken mental health system.

Voluntary Appeal File - VAF

Voluntary Appeal File process:

Individuals attempting to purchase firearms through a federally licensed dealer (FFL) sometime experience an erroneous denial or delay by the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).  Denials and delays based on faulty information can be appealed; however the NICS Section cannot retain a record of a successful appeal.  Without an updated record, a purchaser will likely face the same denial or delay the next time they attempt to make a purchase requiring a NICS background check.

In order to avoid the appeal process in the future, a Voluntary Appeal File can be created.  Voluntary Appeal Files permit applicants request that NICS maintain information about themselves in the file to prevent future erroneous denials or extended delays of a firearm transfer.

Assault Weapon Myth

I was going to start this post by saying that we all realize the media (and the anti-gun crowd) tends to distort the truth when it comes to gun issues. But then I realized… No, many people DON'T realize that.  In fact, I’m guessing the anti-gun crowd actually has some success with promoting their anti-Second Amendment agenda by using misleading statements. (AKA… LIES)

One of the most common examples of how the anti-gun crowd attempts to mislead us is by throwing around the term “assault rifle”.  In the following video, Jeff at Bigshooterist does a great job of demonstrating how the anti-gun crowd attempts to convince us that a standard semi-automatic rifle is an evil assault rifle.

Surviving an Active Shooter Event

The City of Houston has released a video designed to teach people how to react during an active shooter event.

RUN. HIDE. FIGHT.  Surviving an Active Shooter Event, depicts a workplace shooting scenario.

A couple interesting points:

1. The "Gun Free Zone" sign does nothing to prevent the shooter from entering the building.

2. Multiple people are shot (and possibly killed) before law enforcement arrives.

3. Because this is a "Gun Free Zone", when the innocent people are forced to fight, they must do so with chairs and fire extinguishers.

4. When law enforcement arrives, they are not armed with chairs and fire extinguishers. Why? Because this would put them at a severe disadvantage, similar to that of the innocent victims.

Bad people do bad things. This has always been the case. Do you really want to try to defend yourself (and your family) with an "Assault" Chair or an "Assault" Fire Extinguisher?  If not, actively support the Second Amendment!

The media and the anti-gun crowd are going crazy spewing incorrect information. One of the most common untruths they are spreading revolves around the following phrases: assault rifle, semi-auto, and full auto. And the worst part is... many people blindly believe the lies that are being told.

So... What the heck is a barrel shroud?

This video (which is quite legendary), has been around for a while. But, as we have seen over the last week, the anti-gun crowd is known for not having a clue what they are talking about. This video is a perfect example of an anti-gunner (Rep. Carolyn McCarthy) wanting to ban something despite the fact that she has no idea what it is.

Notice how she makes every attempt to avoid answering the big question: What is a barrel shroud?

Bill O'Reilly Gun Control

Bill O’Reilly…  Anti-Gun or Just Uninformed?

Honestly, I have always liked to watch Bill O’Reilly.  But this debate with Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz over gun control laws has certainly changed my opinion of him.

This debate is a perfect example of how the anti-gun crowd tends to argue about gun control.

1.  Notice what Bill O’Reilly initially categorizes as heavy weapons: Mortars, Howitzers, Machine Guns.  Ok, those are certainly on the heavy side.  But, approx 2 minutes into the debate, suddenly heavy weaponry includes: semi-automatic, automatics and ammunition.  Really Bill?... Semi-Automatics? That is the majority of the rifles and handguns in the United States. Does you know what a semi-automatic is?

2.  Bill seems to think that pretty much anyone can purchase an AK-47, with no reporting.  Geezz… isn’t THAT a favorite argument of the anti-gun crowd.  Notice the following picture.  These came from his show. I’m guessing he thinks these are AK-47 (fully automatic) rifles.  WRONG!  They are semi-automatic rifles. They operate no differently than a semi-automatic hunting rifle.  But, they sure do look “scary”, and the anti-gun crowd loves to scare people! *All news agencies use pictures just like this when trying to demonize guns. Keep in mind, these operate no differently than a typical hunting rifle. But, if they showed the general public a wall of the typical hunting rifle, that wouldn't have nearly the same impact.. FEAR!

3.  Has Bill O’Reilly ever been to a gun show? It sure doesn’t seem like it to me. He would have you believe that you can stroll right out of a gun show with a full-auto AK-47, and no one will know.  Honestly, I doubt you will see any full-auto AK-47 rifles at a gun show.  But, you will see TONS of the look-alike semi-automatic rifles.

4. 60,000 rounds? Isn’t it 6,000?  At least, that is what I have heard over and over from every other news agency. Did Bill O'Reilly just decide that 60,000 made for a more interesting debate?

As I mentioned before, I have been a fan of Bill O'Reilly. I don't want to sound sappy, but this debate truly saddened me. Not just because of his anti-gun statements, but because he was so uninformed. I expected more from him than that.
